A Game That Made Me Feel Like A Gamer Again :D

    Posted: 06 Jan 2022 07:56 PM PST

When years go on I really started to don't like gaming no more as the trends go on like BR, battle pass, lootbox, etc, as I going through life with depression and PTSD when I heard that GW2 is getting DX11 api I was very excited as GW2 is fun the performance was poor for my liking with DX9. I went play WoW for a year and only thing I did was to chat with friends and that was that but after I had a bad break up with 2 of my BFF I felt empty and completely loss interested in game and gaming in general so as I was recovering I play a bit of Destiny 2 and that was fun and I was very hook as gameplay is fun and that was that, community is very toxic, bungie is getting cocky with Season and DLC and seems like bungie didn't care at all, so I left I even made a post on subreddit why I left Destiny 2. (No longer exist) and I got littered with "see you next Tuesday" "don't care" etc, so I had to do what best install Linux learn to code. When they enable DX11 I had to see what's up and I was hooked finally got 4 my mounts and met some of my friends on there even got to join a guild, great community, what I heard ANET listen great on feedbacks, I can do whatever I want whenever I want :D i happy to wake up and play GW2 if I want to or not. Doesn't feel like a chore to play. The community is great to. I dont see like I said "what happen to him" reply back: "he asked a question on Reddit". I even told my guild that I'm turning trans and they happy for me. I'm happy that I'm enjoying GW2 and I'm happy I'm in the community thank you

Can we please start making it a normal thing to say what roll you're playing when you're leaving a group

    Posted: 06 Jan 2022 10:54 PM PST

Also to leave groups before logging out of fractles, people waste time thinking you may have disconnected or gone somewhere else.

    Most people don't enjoy kicking

    non gameplay tips

    Posted: 06 Jan 2022 10:20 PM PST

Downloading as I write this, guild wars two has always been on my list. Ive been playing mmos for the last 15 years of my life, and world of warcraft was the majority of that. Rift, neverwinter, shaiya. All decent games. But in each one, there were hidden QoL things they never told you about. After hundreds of hours you usually find them, are told about them.

What about you guys? Do you have any neat options or tips for playing through that arent inherently obvious?

What's up with PvP's massive lag issues? Is anyone else getting this?

    Posted: 06 Jan 2022 06:39 PM PST

I play pvp very regularly, about 8 to 15 games a day on average for the past 6 to 8 months-ish. The past week or so, I've suddenly been experiencing game-breaking lag. In PvE and lobby, my ping will hover perfectly around 10 to 20 with no input lag. However, when I go into the match my ping becomes worse than Reddit's uptime, averaging around 200 to 300 with regular spikes to 500 and beyond.

    • All PvE content is perfectly fine.
    • Other video games are perfectly fine.
    • I'm in the continental U.S. on NA servers.
    • Others in lobby map chat report the same, daily.

    What I've tried

It's so frustrating that this is seemingly out of my hands. Is anyone else here on Reddit experiencing this? Is there something I can do, or somewhere to reach out to ANet?

Hypothetically what can $100 get in you in gw2

    Posted: 06 Jan 2022 02:11 PM PST

What could someone do with $100, expansions, gems, what is worthy? Without converting gold to gems.

    Lower FPS? Is something wrong?

    Posted: 06 Jan 2022 06:35 PM PST

Ive been playing GW2 for a good bit but I'm getting some weird issues with my FPS.

Ive turned off reflections and lowered character limits but im still getting kinda lower fps. Mostly in HOT / POF / IBS zones my FPS is lower than 60.

    here are my specs -

    GPU - Nvidia 3070

    CPU - 11th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-11800H @ 2.30GHz 2.30 GHz

    RAM - 32 GB

and its runnign on an SSD.

I can play nearly every other AAA game on max settings with 100+ FPS.

    Is there something wrong?

    Autotarget or no autotarget?

    Posted: 06 Jan 2022 01:49 PM PST

Is it worth learning to play without autotarget? I've noticed this being especially annoying when using movement skills to get around faster.

    Guild Wars 2 Collection

    Posted: 06 Jan 2022 11:45 PM PST

I got the base version of the game a million years ago and haven't gotten either of the expansion (HoT or PoF). I am considering hopping back in, and was hoping to do so before the next expansion drops so I can do a little catching up and enjoy the expansion day 1.

Does anyone know if purchasing the collection (here on the right) gives HoT and PoF on purchase or at EoD launch?

The reason for my concern is that you open up the collection and look at what each version gives you, it will say for some of the items if they will be available at launch or at purchase, but it doesn't say so for PoF or HoT.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Wanting to try new roles

    Posted: 06 Jan 2022 04:58 PM PST

I can only cover dps role in raids and fractals, but I would like to learn new roles and to be able to cover them. Which support class do you all recommend and why? I want some ideas before I invest into one build. I have access to Mesmer, Guardian, Necromancer, Thief, Ranger, and Elementalist. Also, I have all specializations unlocked. Let me read your opinions. Have a great day.
