    Thinking of picking up GW2 after NW

    Hi - I recently picked up/played New World and realized how much I missed MMO gaming. And while New World turned out to be absolute trash, it did do a good job of pointing out what I missed (and what I dislike).

    Quick note: I played GW2 for like a week on release, but remember almost nothing other than getting to some desert place to the south.

    • I severely miss tab targeting. Aiming everything just isn't fun. Google makes it sound GW2 has poor tab targeting, it sounds like there are good alternatives? And you don't aim abilities?
    • I miss having more than 3 abilities. How many do you get at a time? 5?
    • I miss being able to just play dungeons (NW gated them hard so that you could almost never run them). Are there gates to the dungeons? Are there low level dungeons too?
    • I miss open world, always flagged PvP. Do these servers exist?

    Refreshing

    As a former long time wow player, where simply asking a question will get your soul roasted by neckbeard incels, I was blown away by the fact that a random player passerby literally spent like 20 minutes earlier this afternoon helping me figure out the answer to a problem I was having configuring xpadder for my ps4 controller. Guy literally was watching YouTube videos to help me.

    Maybe this is common in gw2 ....but this would never happen in wow. EVER. I definitely feel I've made the correct choice for my new home.

    With that said anyone who wants to play on a controller that needs help feel free to hit me up. I'm working on a write up for my setup later tonight.

    As someone with really bad arthritis and was never able to not be a key turner cause potatoe brain won't learn... its a reeeeaaaal game changer.

    So I have been on a short gw2 break as another game I love released a huge update and I have been addicted to that, but I still follow and dabble a bit in gw2 and I think I have seen a strong mixed sentiment on the expansion.

    Just wanted to throw in some positivity and say that I am still really excited for End of Dragons and can't wait to play it! I am also really optimistic on how well it will do in terms of getting players back into the game as well as being a strong start for newer Tyrians.

    The Turtle looks super fun

    The zones are gorgeous, some of my favorite so far.

    Cant wait to try the new strikes

    The story seems to have higher production quality

    I like most of the new specs and am excited to try them out.

    Etc etc.
    Kind of rambly but just wanted to see who else is pumped for End of Dragons still like I am!
