Trying to get to Vizunah Square (Local)

    Posted: 29 Sep 2021 12:46 AM PDT

    Hi all!

I'm a returning player that has been doing the Canthan Cartographer title. I'm at 98% at the moment. I read that getting into the local version of the Vizunah Square can help bump up a bit. However, I am unable as I'm on an Elonian character. Is anyone able to help me out?

You would need to be Canthan and have the Mayhem in the Market quest.

    Thanks!

    8-man Rit Bomber KeystoneWay

    8-man Rit Bomber KeystoneWay

I've been taking a break from DoA lately as I haven't had the time to commit to such long runs/tests so I tried out u/Krschkr's Keystone Discord Way posted on PvX wiki on my Necro and absolutely LOVED it. Fun and effective as it is, I've been wanting to play my Ritualist lately and I found that it doesn't fit into that particular team build very well. Thus, I got to theorycrafting and testing and came up with 3 different 8-man ideas.

    First: WoTF Barrage Bombs!

    https://preview.redd.it/l1vap0tg5bq71.png?width=616&format=png&auto=webp&s=822b55a73b0aa35445bdcf78b72cfda00e47c220

This is where I started. The idea was to maximize the value of WoTF with Minions and Barrage spammers. Usage is simple: precast WoTF and SW on both Rangers, pull aggro and ball foes, allow Rangers to spike, then let Discord and Keystone Bombers clean up the stragglers. I initially didn't think BiP would be necessary, but the Mesmers need it when trying to keep up with minion casts. The one drawback I found to this team was that it struggled to stay on top of healing at times due to Infuse Health and lot's of Sacrifice skills on the healers overall.

    Second: WoTF Barrage Bomb 2

    https://preview.redd.it/wj9lxerb6bq71.png?width=616&format=png&auto=webp&s=90bd7a6a4460bede5fee8a63d4a08813f44a165d

This one borrowed a lot more from Krschkr's build due to ripping 4 of the bars straight from it. It was much more stable than the original, though it had less prot ability overall. Same basic principals apply here: precast WoTF and SW on the ranger, pull aggro and ball foes, spike with Barrage, maintain SW when lots of enemies, maintain GDW when lower amounts, let the Keystone and Rit bombers clean up stragglers. This one was a lot of fun but I found it struggled in 2 scenarios: first fights could be tough to initiate the kills at times if the barrage spike doesn't work, cleaning up stragglers could be a pretty slow process at times depending on how many minions are able to be bombed/created.

    Finally: Explosive Rit Bombs

    https://preview.redd.it/06d25r3w6bq71.png?width=616&format=png&auto=webp&s=6bf0e25c47bd150d3d690fe51c9cfe6f2c381147

This one's got everything you could ask for imo, with variants for different scenarios. Obviously, it's a mishmash of bomber bars and MesmerWay, but it feels pretty solid for Vanquishing and even some WoC content. The initial kills are achieved through E-Surge and the player bar (which does so much damage so fast that most mobs can't keep up with it on its own), the mid-fight is handled by the Explosive Minion bombers and the Keystone Bomber, and stragglers are cleaned up by everything mentioned above. Even in WoC where several Necros can steal minions this build hasn't struggled at all. The Necros, Monks, and Rits are targeted first so they receive the brunt of the interrupt shutdown, any minions turned masterless still have allied Death Nova, and the basic bars still deal so much damage in a relatively large area that cleanly spiking groups has been pretty easy. One thing to keep in mind about this build is its lack of melee shutdown outside of Weakness, thus often the Player has to use the Rit Bomber Spike to keep melee foes blinded if they're targeting the backline. I know that Ritualist MM's are generally considered outdated, but the ability to maintain minions at all times as well as trigger extra AoE damage through Explosive Growth has felt like a solid addition to the teams. In areas where more shutdown is required, one of the E-Surge Mesmers can run Panic. In areas where more melee shutdown is required, one of the E-surge Mesmers can be replaced with an Ineptitude Mesmer.

Of the three builds, the third one feels like the most well-rounded. With proper setup the Barrage bombs can absolutely destroy mobs in no time, but they don't recover when things go wrong.

    Thoughts on the builds?

EDIT: u/Environmental_Work63 and u/Effective-Painter-80 were interested in my Fevered Dreams Warrior comp, so here it is!

    https://preview.redd.it/w0psi0777dq71.png?width=616&format=png&auto=webp&s=3d03d057a1115045f2258e4b0e9a1999c7808e2f

Lots of shutdown, single target damage, AoE damage, and absolutely enchantment free. Feel free to replace Icy Veins with BiP for a more traditional experience. It would allow you to take fewer e-management skills on the Mesmers.

    Looking for Guild

    Posted: 28 Sep 2021 02:47 PM PDT

Howdy y'all! I came back to the game about a week ago and I'm looking for a guild to join! (My current guild is just me and my BiLs now, only one of whom still logs in, and that not very often...) I've seen the LGiT tag around a good bit, but I'm curious what other options might be out there!

I'd appreciate your recommendations, and/or invitations!

    Thanks.

Best 4-man setup for a Rt player bar?

    Posted: 28 Sep 2021 01:52 PM PDT

I'm playing through WoC NM right now and have been struggling to find a strong and fun 4-man setup. I really don't want to play SoS Spammer or ST Prot/Heal as I find the playstyles to be rather boring. In my current 8-man party I've been playing a Ritual Lord Spike/Bomber but I haven't found that to be playable in 4-man areas.

    Any ideas?
