As far as I know, since launch the only new sylvari themed armor we've gotten (albeit from the gemstore) is the Maguuma shoulders, gloves, and boots. So as far as armor that is earned in game, there is only Cultural armor and the Nightmare armor set that was all released at launch 9 years ago. I'm doing the best I can with these few pieces of gear, but can we please get more cultural armor across all races?

Cultura armor up until now has been

    • Tier 1 - level 35 rare quality
    • Tier 2 - level 60 rare quality
    • Tier 3 - Level 80 rare quality

What I would like to see in End of Dragons is

    • Tier 4 - level 80 exotic quality
    • Tier 5 - level 80 ascended quality
    • Tier 6 - level 80 legendary quality

And please don't make it so that each tier is just the next evolution of the previous one. What I would like are 3 totally unique sets. Otherwise, the previous tiers skins are irrelevant after upgrading because it's essentially the same thing but missing the bells and whistles. Each set should have bells and whistles. But of course, legendary should come with the whole shabang! If you get my drift.

It's time. It's long overdue actually. And honestly, i'm tired of rocking the same 9 year old skins just to keep the cultural theme of my character.

Everyone do tell what you'd like future cultural armor to look like.

I can only speak about sylvari armor. I imagine Tier 6 sylvari cultural armor to be animated. When weapons are sheath, i'd like to see a more subdued look of just vines. But when the weapons are unsheath, it blossoms incredibly into flowers all over the armor with petals drifting off and regrowing constantly. And the petals all fall off when you sheath your weapon again.

Hold on, normal ascended is now half the price of WvW bought?

    Posted: 28 Sep 2021 04:01 AM PDT

Seriously. Zojja's Doublet for example. 45g 90s to craft on crafting calculator.

Triumphant Hero's Raiment, 4 tailors marks, on CC that's 41g, you need another 3g for the vendor almost caught up already. Enter the memories of battle, >50g worth for a full stack, brings it to more than double the cost of forging your own.

I'd say get rid of the marks. I remember, I think it was season 4 of PvP, there were no marks. Don't know why they added them. What I'm suggesting would still leave WvW ascended gear costing more than crafted gear. You'd still need the 250 memories of battle, and the claim tickets you need to get on your own.

Making changes without putting them in the patch notes is the worst part of ArenaNet's communication.

    Posted: 27 Sep 2021 03:30 PM PDT

Patch notes should be as complete as possible. If there are changes that geared towards a specific subset of the community, they should still be present in the patch notes. Without this, it is impossible to tell what is and isn't a bug in the game to report!

A few examples of previous stealth changes to the game that we don't know if it is a bug or not:

    • Almost every change to Epilogue: Ashes of the Just (it literally changes almost every patch).
    • Manual Weapon Swapping cancels any skill currently being cast.
    • Staff ambush on mirage gives boon around the target, not the caster.
    • Phantasmal Warden (Focus 5 on mesmer) only finishes once in combo fields, as opposed to the previous patch's multiple finishers.

If this continues to be a regular thing, a lot of players cannot reasonably distinguish between a feature and an unintended change.

What kind of unholy Keybinds have you set up in Guild Wars 2?

I used to get quite a lot of funny looks when I mention that I jump on alt. I use my spacebar as my second ability. I use Q , Space, E, R and G for Weapon Skills and 1 to 5 for the Utility Skills.

How do you go from being a good casual player to a decent hardcore player?(PVE)

    Posted: 28 Sep 2021 03:02 AM PDT

I have been raiding with my static raid group for a while now and I have been doing a few roles over the past months like kiting on Qadim1, Pylons on Q2, Wargs on Escort, Druid on a few bosses but unfortunately I never had the chance of playing other roles since they do require a good amount of experience like tanking, hand kiting, Tower chrono, etc.

I would love to improve upon myself and I think I have hit a wall.

I only play 3-4 dps classes and I want to get better at these before moving on to learn new classes.

What are your experiences from moving from being a casual player to being a more hardcore player.

A contrary theory for each medium Elite Spec icon

    Posted: 27 Sep 2021 01:01 PM PDT

    https://preview.redd.it/jiqyhq2qq3q71.png?width=1226&format=png&auto=webp&s=e693ed1fdecda37ab762f485c011f5c8c984f21e

Marked as spoiler because this post presumes the reader's knowledge of the Elite Spec weapon leaks.

    -RANGER-

The icon that I am making an argument for being the Ranger elite spec is the one often referred to by the community as "the oni mask". When I first saw all of the icons early on, that's exactly what I thought it was, too. Understandably, one was looking out for Asian influence and inspiration in the designs. Currently, it seems the general consensus is that this icon will belong to the Thief spec, primarily because the other two icons seem to more comfortably be assigned to Ranger and Engineer, leaving the "oni mask" as the leftover. However, I have a few points to make.

First off, what is an "oni"? We have an understanding of what this creature is supposed to look like from cultural mythos, but GW1 has already set a precedent for what an "oni" is supposed to be interpreted as in the game world. (1) The imagination of an "oni" is completely, entirely different from the standard, and from the icon imagery.

What, instead, does this icon look like? It looks just like an ogre; (2) The race that is best known in-game for raising pets. Could you also not see this elite spec, some form of beastmaster class that has taken inspiration and learning from Cantha's ogre tribes, using a giant hammer/club as their weapon? We know that "Ranger with a hammer" is a callback to the "bunny thumper" from GW1, but that is a fan-given name for a build, given due to the look of the character's animations. Wouldn't you like to think that the concept of "Ranger with a hammer" could be re-imagined by the devs to be something with a more unique and clear flavor?

    -ENGINEER-

The icon that I am making an argument for being the Engineer is the one that the community has largely agreed upon being the Ranger icon. Honestly, who can blame them? What does this thing even look like? It looks like an arrowhead and a feline face, or something. (3) If you go by what this thing appears to be at face value, it might as well be a replacement for the base Ranger icon. (Or even Renegade, it could look like a cutesy Charr, I guess. The spikes could be any mixture of horns/ears.) After the Ranger's new weapon leaked, it was said that this icon could look like a hammer head facing downwards, but I'm not sold on that visual. Because I believe firmly in my interpretation of the Ranger's icon, let's begin shoehorning this into Engineer.

There is the potential that this thing could be a representing a flanged mace head, (4) instead of an arrowhead, because the line going down the "face" could be the edge that is projecting toward the viewer. Of course, we know mace to be the weapon that Engineer is receiving, but this interpretation is perhaps reaching.

Most importantly, let's address the bug/oversight that cropped up at the start of this month, where the Engineer's F4 skill was bringing up a pet naming menu when being right-clicked. This could be a completely meaningless bug, or it could be an unintended sneak peek into a rather un-anticipated spec (and admittedly one that I understand many people are quite upset by the idea of) where the tool belt is replaced by a pet hotbar. Perhaps instead of golems, these theoretical pets are jade tech animal-shaped constructs, (5) or even animals augmented with jade tech, kind of like the siege turtles. (This additionally makes the concept less themed around specific racial tech, like golems) This could explain the animal look of the icon, without it having to be Ranger.

    -THIEF-

The icon that I am making an argument for being the Thief is the weird thing that is hardly discernible. The community understandably attributes this to being the Engineer icon, probably because it has such rigid, mechanical-looking shapes. It has been likened to a person with blocky arms and giant pauldrons, (6) though in spite of my sketch, the icon itself doesn't seem to have any "biceps", if that's what it is. It could also be a person in the cockpit of a golem or other such pilotable mech. (7) It's difficult to ignore that possibility. But I promised a contrary theory for all three, and we're going there.

The only truly "clear" thing about this icon is the minimalist person in the center. I don't believe there are "arms" attached to it. Detail was added to the triangular body of the person, which made it more arrow-like. That detail takes it from being a "public bathroom man" and makes it more into a "you are here person". If you try to reverse engineer this result, you can question why the graphic designer has chosen to include an indicator of a "located person". This is a reach, but please understand. Thieves are the masters of stealth, but yet currently they are unable to use this expertise to find others who are stealthed? I propose that this scepter-wielding spec is meant to be a master of magically dispelling stealth and stripping boons; (8) The Thief's version/flavor of Spellbreaker. Something like "Saboteur" or "Inspector"... a "white hat" Thief. What are the things on the sides of the person in the icon? Nobody knows or ever will know.

That's right, I theorized it would be another PvP-inclined Thief spec, and not a boon support spec like so many are clamoring for. The simple fact that it isn't what was wanted should lend the idea credence! ;)

Thanks for reading, if you made it this far.

Devs should add a legendary dungeon item, to revive dungeon populations

    Posted: 28 Sep 2021 09:32 AM PDT

Lately I've been watching a lot of streamers who try the game for the first time since the WoW controversy. And one thing I notice constantly is that the new player gets very excited when they hear about dungeons because they are used to dungeons in other games, and the core GW2 story leads you directly to dungeons. And then twitch chat immediately lets the streamer know that dungeons are basically dead, not maintained by developers, and barely played by most players.

I think you could very much revive dungeons if devs added a new reward for end game players to reach for. They wouldn't even have to change dungeon mechanics, just add new items from the dungeon vendor in Lion's Arch.

I'm thinking they could do something like they did in PvP and WvW where there are the lesser sets of skins and then the mistforged skins. What if devs did this:

    1. Take all of the existing dungeon skins and create a mistforged version. The mistforged version could just be the same skin but with a unique colorful aura or something like that, which wouldn't take much developer resources to create. Maybe a different color aura for each dungeon?
    2. The mistforged versions would cost maybe 3x the token cost of the current skins and a bit of gold, and you can only buy the mistforged version once you have the regular unlocked.
    3. Once the player has unlocked every mistforged skin from every dungeon, they gain the option to craft a dungeon-based legendary item by using dungeon tokens from each dungeon to purchase the crafting mats.

This would get tons of endgame players back into playing dungeons, which would improve the new player experience by bringing more players into the LFG for dungeons that the noobs can play with. As for the legendary item, I have no idea. Maybe a ring or accessory.

    Option to select footfalls

    Posted: 27 Sep 2021 04:47 PM PDT

I just crafted Flames of War and I absolutely adore the footfalls for it, however it is an offhand weapon. Since primary legendary weapons override footfalls, I am unable to see them and it bums me out, especially since I want a fire looking footfall to match warbringer. I dont think having an option to select a "main" legendary while wielding two of them would be too difficult but then again it might be asking too much. What do you think?
