    HoT to the end of LS4 was honestly an amazing period of the game

    During that roughly 3 year period, we received such a steady flow of content with the continuous cycle of expansion followed by living story, then rinse in repeat.

    I was looking back at the release pages for all the season 3 and 4 episodes and we got such a good amount of content in each. Not just a new map in each patch like we're used to, but new legendaries, usually a new fractal or raid, and usually 1 or 2 big new features during each season, sometimes also spvp maps(no that often sadly wvw sadly).

    ​

    Having had to deal with so much disappointment around IBS, like the fact that we should have gotten an expansion instead to continue to content cycle, it's really made me appreciate that previous period of the game when it feels like Anet had a really clear vision of what they were doing.

    ​

    I hope that after EoD that Anet goes back to the old content cycle that worked for them so well. Which means that if we get another living story after EoD, they don't just try to pull a fast one on us again and say "yeah, we don't need to do another expansion to follow up with the content cycle, we can just replace it with the living story".

    Apparently we really, really like Cairn. We've duoed this boss before with the glitched strat to avoid getting the red agony circles- but we had to try it again while mirage is absolutely busted. With the latest balance patch we were able to cut in half our previous duo time thanks to the absurd damage and boon output of mirage while still being able to tank allowing the firebrand to drop nearly all the defense traits and gear.

    Despite having done this before, there was still a substantial amount of grinding- learning the mirage "rotation", how to get the opening phase retreat to get enough clones and still get the stab before the first spatial manipulation while also keeping tank the whole time. There was also lots of testing to see how aggressive of a build the FB could run while still being alive, and of course testing out the different potential trait lines/runes/sigils/food/utility that the FB could use to provide as much vuln and quickness as possible while sacrificing the minimum amount of DPS.

    All in all this took about 228 pulls over 9.5 hours of combat time, with 27 successful duo pulls and lots and lots of GGing.

    My girlfriend is trying out GW2 tomorrow. This is her first MMO, and I want to give her a good first impression so that she sticks around. What content should we do?

    I think she'll like GW2 (or any MMO) because she loves doing the daily and weekly quests on Fortnite, which generally follow the "collect X number of Y" format. I want to give her a good first impression so that she actually sticks around. Any suggestions? We'll both be starting out at lvl 1 and probably Norn.

    Wanted to do some WvW to get away from PvE, but was greeted with this.

    Sales for Living World Season 3

    I've never done raids, but I have done fractals (and is currently in Level 72). I just roam WvW and never really did PvP. Well there were dungeons but they're so dusty. So basically my "hardcore experience" is essentially fractals. What is it like anyway? I heard it's essentially "mini raids"?

    Hierarchy of Canon

    In all the games and other stories I enjoy, there is an unofficial 'hierarchy of canon'. Things that supersede things under it. A way to clear up conflicts/retcons that naturally appear in all shared universes (and even more so in a video game with concessions made to gameplay, art direction, technology limitations, budget etc.)

    My Hierarchy of Canon would be:

    1. Newest released content takes precedence over older content.
    2. Critical/golden path content takes precedence over non-critical/golden path content.
    3. Text lore takes precedence over visual/asset lore.
    4. In-game lore takes precedence over blog posts, short stories, and novels.
    5. Blog posts, short stories, and novels take precendence over forum posts and interviews.
    6. Forum posts and interviews take precedence over dev answers and comments on personal venues (twitter etc).

    What would your personal hierarchy look like?

    Hey guys. I am seeking advice from necro mains.

    As the title says, I need your help! I started playing necro in wvw about two months ago. Everything about this class I have fallen in love with. But I am struggling. I play condition core and really dont feel like I am contributing to my roaming team. My damage is always the lowest. I am learning scourge as well. I do not like reaper. Can someone give me a good build for either core or scourge? I want to learn how to deal the damage that i see other necros doing. Please help!
