    Hey,

    To introduce myself, I've been playing many MMO games before, but mostly a forgotten MMO, it was called Rappelz. Now after years of being idle MMORPG player, I decided to comeback to a friendly and not so time absorber game. I played GW2 once in 2012 or so, I had the paid account but do not really remember the story itself or more facts from the game (lost the account tho). I'm currently on the start of the game now (7 level or so) and I see that some features cannot be done on a free acc.

    The question is, should I get the standard or deluxe edition to feel the game better? Is it necessary or gives you many benefits? Thanks in advance for the answers guys! :D

    How welcoming is GW2 to a couple of casual MMORPG players?

    Hello everyone, as the title says, I've been looking for a fun newbie-friendly MMORPG which I can play with my girlfriend for a long time now, and decided GW2 is one of our best options, we've tried BDO but I guess the hardcore end game grind is just not for us cuz life gets pretty busy, so now I'm just wondering how welcoming GW2 is in the sense of casual non hardcore gameplay.

That's a lot of insight, I would like to thank every single one of you for taking the time to enlighten me not just by answering my question but also by providing so much info as in game mechanics, events, grind, gear, progression, etc. I haven't even played yet and I'm absolutely loving the community. We'll definitely be picking a couple of copies (as in expansions) once we have the cash for 'em, hopefully we run into you while at it, happy gaming and merry xmas to y'all!

    Melee range character suggestion

    I have just recently come back to the game after a while away. I have a level 80 necro and ranger and a 69 guardian. Over the years my play style has changed and I prefer to be in melee range far more than hitting from a distance. Looking at the warrior, revenant, and thief as options. Any suggestions for a survivable melee class? Thanks.

    Why no more JP?

    I was thinking how little content anet is producing and I realized that since PoF every update is a generic bland map with a short story with an event that people do over and over but nothing more. I learned from the wiki that the last JP released was on HoT maps... Now I'm not the biggest fan of JP but I like them enough and how hard is it to put a small team and pay them to produce a JP for every new map????

    Hi,
    I have 2 accounts in gw2, while both have HoT and PoF, but now I play on newer one, since I have lost access(forget) to old one, but now I have recovered it and I would like to merge those 2 accounts as much as possible. Since I dont care about achievements, only thing I would like to merge are exclusive items I have on old one for buying HoT when it wasnt free and 1 character (my first one) and some other account bound stuff like color unlocks, etc. Do anybody here have experience with Anet resolving this issue or some way how to do this?

    Best way to farm ascended mats

    Hi there guys! I want to start crafting my first ascended set, I however still need allot of mats to do so. The only thing I'm not short on is bloodstone dust. From what I'm collecting, via youtube videos is that my best bet is to farm meta events and chests in Silverwaste. With that I should farm up some karma aswell and buy some obsidian shards with the karma build up. Does this sound like a solid plan or do I need adjustment? I'd love to hear!     Previewing weapons without the user interface in the way?

    I'm wanting to take some nice screenshots of the weapons in GW2 for a personal project, but I'm struggling with the UI that the previewer uses. There's this big nasty "Preview Armor" bit at the top, as well as the "Clear Preview" button and the boxes for other armor, etc, getting in the way. Is there a place in game where I can properly preview the weapons without all the stuff in the way? Thanks.

    Struggle to get back in

    So I've played this game quite a lot since release. I have all the expansions as of now and was on a pretty large break from the game. I want to start playing again but I've been out of practice and have forgotten a lot and missed a lot about the game. Im trying to do some missions but I keep getting destroyed by the enemies, and I never really knew much about builds to maximize your character. Do you guys have any tips on how you got back in after a real long break, and if there are good guilds that help guide new/ returning players?

    Unlimited gathering, style vs function?

    I was gifted enough gems to buy a full set of unlimited gathering tools. I researched the tools and glyphs for the tools but cannot decide on whether to get ones with a cool animation or ones that are min/max fastest or alt resource chance(volitale magic/watchwork/leather).

    I love the choya mining animation, but it isn't the fastest and doesn't have the best glyph? Getting a trio like volital magic set is cheaper but the animations are meh to me. Then to get the better glyphs would mean waiting who knows how long till certain individual tools get cycled back into the store...

    Should I wait and get the animations I like, wait for the ones with min/maxed glyphs to show up, or get a set of three due to cost? I don't know the history of the gem shop and trying to Google uts history is proving futile so far. I don't even know if it would be worth it to wait and see if these tools go on sale for less than 1000 gems a pop.

    Good PvP Class + Resources to learn it

    So I'm interested in playing more PvP (and maybe WvW?) but I noticed I'm lacking a lot of knowledge.

    So I have a few questions :

    What classed are good in PvP/WvW? I often read (and saw on Godsofpvp and metabattle), that Burn DH is pretty good. But I also read, that it's getting kinda bad if you're climbing and there are way better options then. Is there a class, which is strong, maybe even in higher elo, even when it's pretty hard to learn? If yes, which class + elite specialisiation would that be? Are there any guides for the build/build-variations of this class? Any good streamer or youtuber you would recommend?

    I know it will take a lot of time to learn it and I'm willing to invest the time, but I'd rather not invest it in a class, which is suboptimal for PvP.
