    Appreciation Post for this Community.

    Posted: 13 Dec 2020 01:15 AM PST

    Hello,

I've been playing this game for about a week and a half now, I'm almost level 70, and I just have to say this community is amazing.

I've been walking through towns and have had a dozen high level people ask me if it's my first time playing. They would show me around, suggest what I should do next and so on. Whenever I had a question they would immediately respond with no grogginess, but genuine appreciation for new players.

This Reddit as well as the Discord have really helped me understand the game more too. I'm looking forward to new adventures, hopefully I can get myself the DLCs for Christmas :)

    In game earned mount skins.

    Posted: 12 Dec 2020 04:41 PM PST

Make them for raids. Make them faction reward with the expac. Make rare drop dungeon mounts. (If dungeons are returning) pvp mounts, WVW mount skins ..These are some of the most sought after rewards in other mmos. It would bring a huge handful of players into other formats. For those of you that will say "that's how they get their money tho" they can continue to make store mounts. Just make game ones too. Seems like a good move.

Got lost in the Maguuma jungle

Ever wondered what Omnomberry tastes like? Or the famous Black Lion's Reserve? Wonder no more!

    Posted: 12 Dec 2020 09:00 AM PST

The Cooking Guild presents a list of in-game food and drinks and their real-life equivalents!

There are many consumable items in the game that we also have in the real world. Potatoes, tomatoes, Eggnog, Etc.! You want to be boring and try out those things? Head over to your nearest convenience store and find out!

However, what about all the other edibles and drinkables that can be found in Tyria and ONLY in Tyria? What about Indigo Mushrooms? Spiky Fruit? Elonian Wine? Dragon Bash Barley Wine?

It turns out you don't have to wonder about the taste of those things because many of them are actually described in the lore of Guild Wars 2! So, naturally, I took that information and tried to find actual real-life food and drinks that have the same taste. Et Voila! The list of Tyrian food and drinks and their real-life equivalents was born (And still in progress)!

Click on the link and good luck tasting Tyria!

When you're finished reading the list and you want to know more about me or The Cooking Guild, keep on reading below.

I am a simply player who enjoys the PVE aspect of the game but I've always been looking to get even more out of the game and the lore. Not long ago I wondered what it would be like to have my own guild, since the guild I've been in for a very long time started to become quite inactive. Coming up with something unique was on top of my list before founding a guild and I wouldn't even think about starting one if I couldn't come up with that unique approach.

While playing the game, leveling up my cooking skills it suddenly hit me. Tyria is so full of food and drinks that can only be found in the game, what if I make it a quest to find out all about that and see if there is anything in the real-world that comes close to the taste of these foods and drinks?

1 + 1 is 2 and I soon took that idea and started The Cooking Guild. As of now it has exactly 1 member! Me! But if you are interested on joining me on this tasty quest, feel free to contact me in-game: BringThePain.2501

What is your preferred way to clear weekly raids?

    Posted: 13 Dec 2020 04:35 AM PST

Hey I'd like to know what percentage of the gw2 raiding community is pugging and what percentage is exclusively clearing with a premade static. This is to get an idea of the percentage of people we see regularly in the lfg. So come reset, what's your favourite way to clear raid wings? Also if you are new to raids and clear through discord training groups, that's trainings.

If you have any specific reasons for your preference, what are they?

But regardless of how many of those things i put and how many enemies i kill, i always fail At some point, regardless of where the giant shiny ball is, it will go to the enemy point and the event will fail, i failed the event around 30 times so far and i dont know what to do. Theres not much info around so im asking here

The LAG problem. Did Teapot's TT 1-burn challange uncover the mystery?

    Posted: 13 Dec 2020 04:25 AM PST

Streamer Teapot wanted to have some fun and come out with challange to do Triple Trouble world boss in 1 burn phase.

It turns our DPS wasnt a main problem, it was the skill lag. They could not do DPS big enough because skills were not responding fast enough ( sometimes not at all).

To fight this effect they split the fignt into 1+2. instead of going 3 at once (still in one burn phase). But that wasnt enough.

Lag was still a problem untill they ordered all people in squads (so basiacly 90% of people on the map) to:

    -Hide wings.
    -Remove infusions.
-Maybe change flashy weapon skins to more basic ones.

    And it was way better.

Yes, the stupif flashy skins , Vermilion FIREEEE wings and obnoxious infusions are making LAG worse, it is proven.

Why PoF and LW4 maps didnt lag so bad when they were released years ago?

BECAUSE THESE WINGS AND SKINS WERE NOT IN GAME YET.

It turns out on some rich in effects maps, like Thunderhead Peaks (snow etc) if you add people with heavy effects skins, it can be a problem. Now if these people are also mesmers suddenly game need to play their skins effect not only for 1 dude but for all 4 clones of him. People also ride on flashy mounts skins there werent here on the PoF release.

This is it, the mystery solved.
Its Anet fault by adding more and more of flashy things to gemstore not thinking how it will affect the game. Every new skin need to be even more flashy so people who own old one will also buy it. Skins get flashier and flashier we all know that. Its the fashion power creep.

Now that also means we as a community could halp reduce the lag
..... By not using these skins, hide wings, remove infusions. But lets face it, most of the people wont do it.

    Griffon flying guilds?

    Posted: 12 Dec 2020 08:22 PM PST

Hi all - aren't there griffon flying guilds? I remember seeing a really awesome video that showed a group of people doing some awesome griffon flying. Can anyone point me to that video or tell me what they're called? Thanks!
