    **ATTENTION EDIT**: The MAIN thing that is causing issue is the QoS Packet Scheduler. This feature of Windows tries to regulate your net traffic as well as does a terrible job prioritizing packets. This feature interrupts the flow of packets coming from the guild wars launcher, that's why the download stalls in the way that it does, that's why it is so peculiar. You can pretty much ignore the google dns stuff, although it's helped me. The main thing is the QoS feature. Read below!

    If you're on Windows 10 go to Control Panel>Network and Internet>Network and Sharing Center. On the left-hand side, click "Change adapter settings". This will open a new window of various connections.

    Right click the connection you are using and click on Properties, you'll be under the Networking tab in the next box that opens. UNCHECK QoS Packet Scheduler.

    YOU MUST USE -assetsrv origincdn.101.arenanetworks.com to keep things rolling! To utilize it, find your Guild Wars 2 shortcut on your desktop and right click it, click on properties. A box will open up and you will see a field that says "Target". Inside that field will be the location of your gw2.exe in quotations. Click inside the field to type, go to the very end, OUTSIDE the quotations, make a space and then past the line "-assetsrv origincdn.101.arenanetworks.com" without the quotes. This is the universal main asset server and will work for everyone.

    All of this combined should 100% fix your problem but the most important is disabling QoS packet scheduler. That feature of Windows basically determines which packets are most important and will totally drop packets from the GW2 Launcher for some reason. It just doesn't have a high priority.

    EDIT: If none of these steps make sense or you run into trouble, add me on Discord and I will gladly walk you through everything you need to do and we can troubleshoot it together! Handle: Legentus#5374

    EDIT 2: Again, if these steps are not working try this: At the top left of your launcher click "Language" and change your language to French. Your files should start downloading. After a few minutes switch back to English and you should be good2go :)

    So I have to get this off my chest. Fractal instabs aren't fun.

    I do CMs + t4s + recs regularly (nearly a stack of unstable cosmic essence and I have two red cele infusions). If you get something like no pain no gain, social awkwardness and we bleed fire on Nightmare or Siren's Reef. It's just a terrible, frustrating experience. Not the worst for shattered observatory, but still annoying. Stacking is quintessential to group content and yet social awkwardness denies that. Stick together at least encourages good gameplay. Moreover to avoid most of the damage from we bleed fire you want to stack and for narrow fractals you don't have much space to work with. Things like the winds on the Siren's Reef boss stage knocks you off for not being on stack. Granted the winds are too wide for that platform, but I digress. Another example are the aoes on Arkk will burn through you off stack. You can't get boons or healing reliably without being near your firebrand/renegade either.

    There's nothing innovative that comes from instabs and they only bring player frustration. Fractals are great on their own. Maybe the older instabs were fine, but the current ones aren't. We bleed fire shouldn't trigger on anything, but the boss. Same for no pain no gain and boons should stay stripped. At least for a while. Sometimes the boss gets boons back immediately after boon stripping. I don't play renegade, but I know how frustrating it is for my friend to boonstrip, cc, maintain boon uptime and to some extent do damage. Since rens can reliably do 10k dps. At least without npng.

    Then you got instabs like flux bomb that just ruin fights like the one against Enso during his split phase. Where you have to capture the circles. At the very least it detracts you from interacting with the boss at all because you should be dropping the bomb off stack. If it's the cc phase you can get really screwed by it.

    I know Anet probably won't ever update fractals again(aside from some minor bug fixing) but I felt like this should be discussed anyways. If Anet truly wants to make fractals fun and challenging then make more cms or new fractals with cms. Also probably remove fractal instabs entirely. If not than at least rework them and delete social awkwardness.

    Hiya,

    I decided to try to match the original GW professions based on their armor/style/outfits/poster in GW2 style.

    From left to right: Warrior, Ranger, Monk, Necromancer, Mesmer, Elementalist, Assassin, Ritualist, Paragon and Dervish.

    Close-up to each profession's faces if anyone is interested, lol.

    Hope you guys enjoyed the nostalgia flashback from our old awesome professions!

    I enjoyed this and still miss most of them that didn't make it in GW2, :(

    we would like to present you our composition for Samarog and the new all-time record.

    GENERAL STRATEGY

    This composition was based on the idea of replacing the commonly used second Renegade with another DPS profession, and use a Berserker to provide one subgroup with Might instead. We originally filled the rest of that subgroup with Daredevils, as their damage- and cc-capabilities have proven to be very useful on Samarog.

    However, without the additional Soulcleave's Summit and a lack of Protection, it was difficult to sustain them. Ultimately, we ran into problems where our split phases weren't fast enough to kill Guldhem before his second stun, and our main phases weren't significantly faster either.

    We started adding Berserkers when we realised that they have comparable cc-capabilities, but don't rely on maintaining scholar for their strong damage. Berserkers appear to be superior to Daredevils in the split phases, as they have a high and sustained damage output rather than Daredevils who only get to burst once per split phase.

    Bringing additional Berserkers also allowed us to split Banners and significantly increase Berserk-uptime on the Tactics Berserker.

    • Might was maintained by the Tactics Berserker ("For Great Justice!", Phalanx Strength), the Renegade (Heroic Command, Pack Runes) and the Dragonhunters (Symbol of Punishment) — as well as most professions providing some additional Might to themselves.
    • Fury was maintained by the Tactics Berserker ("For Great Justice!"), and the Dragonhunters ("Feel My Wrath!") with the Soulbeast (Moa Stance) — as well as most professions providing some additional Fury to themselves.
    • Quickness was maintained by the Chronomancer (Seize the Moment, Well of Action), and the Dragonhunters ("Feel My Wrath!") with the Soulbeast (Moa Stance).
    • Alacrity was maintained by the Renegade.
    • Swiftness was maintained by the Tactics Berserker (Charge) so that all four Berserkers could keep their damage modifier from Warrior's Sprint.
    • Sustain was provided through the Chronomancer (Well of Eternity, All's Well that Ends Well, Well of Action), the Renegade (Soulcleave's Summit) and the Soulbeast (Water Spirit) — as well as everyone else using their heal ability.
    • Cc was the effort of everyone involved and we really don't want to make this longer than it already is, by listing every single ability that has been used. (We have never spent so much time updating cc tables than for this record q.q)

    I'm very happy to see you again because today I have something new for you. The official beta phase is over and we now take off with version 2.1.

    I will try to keep this as short as possible but there are a lot of new things I want you to tell. As usual there is a short summary at the end for all which are in a hurry. :)

    The official beta phase is over, what does that mean?

    This means that we have laid our foundation and we want to continue to build on that.

    There will certainly be many different directions in which we will develop and so what we have already achieved will serve as a starting point.

    Also, during the beta phase, we had time to fix larger and smaller bugs so everything is now smoother.

    Here we would like to thank especially our diligent alpha testers who have supported us so great and tried all the commands up and down.

    Equally deserving of praise are our translators, which have made it possible to release what is now also our third and fourth language, French & Russian, with this version. Thank you so much. List of all contributors

    We would also like to sincerely thank all the others for their ideas and for giving me, Aleeva, the chance to come to their servers so I could show them what I can do.

    What's new with version 2.1?

    On our roadmap you can already see what was planned and we are very happy to announce that we have done it all and much more,

    Above all, as you may have already read above, I now speak French and Russian, so we have already four supported languages. Wooooho.

    Of course we also have Guild Wars specifics for you. Among other things, the long-awaited event timer that shows world bosses and HoT and soon also PoF and Living Story. Cool right?

    In addition, PvP and WvW commands, Tyratime and and and ... So much what you now can use.

    For a better overview when creating events, with registration or deregistration via Discord, we now have our event manager for you. First of all in a simplified version, but you may already be looking forward to what will happen there in the future. :D

    A summary of the most important changes is waiting for you a little further down and if you want to know it exactly, you can join my support server and read all the patch notes.

    Will there be more updates later?

    There will always be some minor changes, like during the beta phase, but there will also be a lot of things that will be bigger.

    More details can be found on our roadmap, either on my website or on my support server. The roadmap will always be updated, so it's clear what will come next.

    Do you have ideas, suggestions or improvements? I do not rely on the creativity of my owner alone, but also on your.

    Problems downloading the game. Any advice would be much appreciated

    I started downloading the game last night and left it over night, I had to restart my computer this morning and now the game client is downloading (kinda). On my launcher it says I'm downloading at 3mb/s but the files remaining is not changing and the progress bar is still at 0%. I'm fairly new to pc gaming and I really can't figure out what to do about it. I got the game to where it was playable and I really liked it so I really wanna get this figured out. Thanks in advance.

    Arenanet has REVERTED the music of Uzolan's Mechanical Orchestra!!

    Finally, after years of this game...we can finally hear the old grand music that enamored many people in this game near launch.

    I had a map chat discussion with a trained musician about how horrible the music was, about 3 days ago...I called it the rag-time music that it had been devolved into.

    But suddenly...I strolled past the orchestra today and heard the old grand music that should have never been removed.

    ARENANET is listening! finally, a few years late...but they're listening! Go and hear the orchestra in its full glory in DR for yourself :)

    edit: hmm, I just walked past it again and heard the newer rag-time music. not sure if its only on at certain times, but I swear I heard the old music in-game for the first time in years. Time for a chat with anet support to confirm what has happened...especially before I build one for myself. Just walked by it a futher time, and now its back to the old grand music...guess its changing back and forth at times

    Me and my wife gonna try GW2 in next weekend. We always play in party me mainly as a tank and she as mage or healer. Any suggested tips for us which builds should we use?

    I played GW2 4 years ago so im lost with those living stories and stuff from expansions.

    We are more like pve players so whats for us at 80 lvl?

    Is there some sort of guide to install necessary plugins? I have been gone for 5 years and am seeing that this and other addons help A LOT with the gameplay. Would love to know more.

    I am also interested in some of the other addons as well but from what ive been reading some of them need to be modified to work with others? or am I misunderstanding all of this?
