[Suggestion] Strike Mission Portal In The Raid Lobby

    Posted: 16 Nov 2019 07:07 AM PST

One of the purposes of Strike Missions is to familiarize people who don't raid with some of the aspects of raiding in hope that some would take the leap and try out raids. A big step towards that goal could be to physically put players in the vicinity of raids and raiders. In addition, it would allow easier and faster formation of squads for Strike Missions, even for people not interested in raids still. Moreover, Anet could add a tab for Strike Missions under the Raid LFG section, especially with more coming in the future. I don't understand why it hasn't been done already, did Anet give any reason or talked about it all? What do you guys think?

[SC] Twisted Castle Duo 1:14 min

    Posted: 16 Nov 2019 08:02 AM PST

    Hi everyone,

We recently got the idea to try to go for the Twisted Castle duo record from a few months ago. To complete this event you need to press 5 buttons before you can open the last door and finish the event. Each button also opens a specific (not interactable) door.

TJ already has the Twisted Castle solo record so we tried to build on that. The solo was done on a Holosmith so that's the first thing we went with. The strong thing about that solo is that Holosmith is able to do skips that other classes cannot do by using traited Rocket Boots, and it has high damage output. So we went with the idea for the Holosmith to solo the mobs which gives access to a button and the skip towards the end. Meanwhile I am running and pressing buttons.

For the second class we chose a Daredevil. It is able to do all the skips and jumps that are needed by using Unhindered Combatant trait, Vault and Shadow Portal, while still having insane mobility through all the shadow steps and dodges Daredevil has. After the Daredevil did the first 3 buttons he'd make the run to the end as it is much faster at that than the Holosmith, while the Holosmith is going for the last 2 buttons.

When we started we aimed for 1:30 min, but after a while we saw that we would be much faster than that and sub 1:15 became our goal. This run ended up being 29 seconds faster than the previous record.

Anyway enough talking, you can check out both PoV's here:

Guild Chat - "Whisper in the Dark" Preview live stream

What is the most broken piece of code Anet has ever inserted into the live game?

    Posted: 15 Nov 2019 11:43 PM PST

I thought about which one takes the cake in terms of how badly it has impacted the game upon its immediate introduction, before any major fixes. That's the criteria I used for my decision, so for me HoT was also a heavy contender. What I chose though, given the current knowledge we have and coupled with how badly players also wanted it, is the raw implementation of build/gear templates that weve gotten. Totally broken in so many ways, the complete removal of basic QoL that was there in the beta without any warning, etc. Its definitely a strong contender lol. Do you agree, or did my long-term memory not think hard enough?

EDIT: already getting some great ones, and that "Feel my wrath" one omg must have made WvW blobs insane back in the day! its fun to remember all of this stuff! thank you all

How interesting is Living Season 2?

    Posted: 15 Nov 2019 10:23 AM PST

Hi, I see there is a sale on Living seasons, and I'd like to buy one of them. The obvious thought is to go chronological and buy Season 2. But seasons 3 and 4 have new maps, which sounds more exciting because I love exploration, jumping puzzles, collectibles etc. So the main reason to buy season 2 is to experience the story, and I'd like to know your opinions on how interesting it was for you.

Are there interesting encounters, bosses? What is the approximate length in hours to complete the storyline? How hard is it? (I've played personal story together with my friend and it was so easy it frankly made us bored and completing it somewhat a slog. Maybe it doesn't scale for two people and that's why it felt so simple). Would you replay season 2 for fun? Would you replay parts of it?

Should I play GW2 on the Chinese Server?

    Posted: 16 Nov 2019 03:45 AM PST

I've been searching for a new MMO to play and been looking towards GW2. Although when I started searching info about the game it showed that the China Megaserver is apparently very different from the EU or NA ones.

Can anyone list to me the differences? Is it worth it to start playing only on the China server? Should I try connecting to the EU or NA servers? My internet isn't all that great so I'm not sure if I should.

Honestly wanting to know what is the white nights defense for the lack of reply to template's feedback.

    Posted: 16 Nov 2019 02:21 AM PST

Please offer your best argument for the lack of any conclusive response from arena net to the feedback offered by the players (that they asked for).

Please take in consideration that the official thread (where they are pilling up the feedback) dates back to October 2nd, and the only repply offered was a "we are considering it" on November 1st.

Also take in consideration that the company is still actively selling a product that has bugs and failures documented on that thread and all over reddit, and also it either removed or broke features that were already part of the product such legendary utility or the ability to auto build switch when you change to wvw or spvp.

Lastly take in consideration that we are all people that have been supporting the company and the game, and how would you feel if something you enjoyed was taken away from you and when you ask why the only thing you got back was nothing, just nothing. And please don't dismiss this as one persons point of view, go to the forum or here on reddit, read how people feel, read about players that have played for years and that now feel so cheated they don't even want to play anymore, and before you say that's their problem remind yourself that the game doesn't work without players.

One last point i am not asking for a finished product, or even the ability to just shut it down and go back, i am asking for the simple action of a response, even if it is a "fk you this is what you get", i am fine with that as long as i get an answer.

Coming in at 1month and half, how long does it take to give an answer to problems as simple and straight forward as X and Y dont work, a answer at least.

    bn
